Send-A-Friend
This program is set up to match homebound individuals with friendly visitors who visit at least once a week for an hour or more. The purpose is to provide a lonely individual with someone with whom to chat and spend time. Frequently, the relationships develop into friendships that are satisfying for both the volunteer and the recipient.
Fundraising Committee
Volunteers will be part of a general fundraising committee, which will develop and implement fundraising activities throughout the year. The money raised will be used to provide for the various outreach programs.
The Rhoda Bloom Kosher Food Pantry
JFS volunteers work with the Rhoda Bloom Food Pantry of Rockland County and various synagogues in the area to provide staples to needy Jewish families in the County. Once a month, volunteers prepare the groceries to be picked up by the families enrolled in the program.
Office Work
As a volunteer in the office you may assist with filing papers, supporting the Birth Baskets program, help with mass mailings and other such tasks.
